Channel 4 shared a clip online from their road-trip and Alan begins telling Miriam: "There's a new tartan in the world, called Aliam."

Confused, she questioned: "Aliam?"

When Cummings confirms, the actress catches on saying: "You and me, boy."

Alan goes onto describe the tartan to Miriam, explaining why he chose certain colours and what they mean.

He tells her: "This is our tartan.

"I did all this months ago. I chose all the colours for special reasons.

Miriam chimes in: "And my mummy called me birdie blue."

Alan continues, "That's great! And this lilac colour, because it's the colour of sapphism."

After this, Alan hands Miriam her very own 'Aliam' tartan blanket where we see her exclaim how much she loves the blanket before showing her the registration for official Scottish tartans.

Fans absolutely loved this heartfelt gesture from Alan, and even more so with Miriam's reaction of pure delight from the gift.
