Vanderpump Rules Bartenders Tom Sandoval & Ariana Madix Reveal Show Secrets In New Cocktail Book

Publish date: 2024-05-09

Vanderpump Rules stars Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix are spilling some serious VPR tea – while also sharing creative cocktail recipes – in their new book Fancy AF Cocktails, which hit bookstores this week. The couple wrote the book with Everything Iconic podcast host Danny Pellegrino, and they say that fans have been asking them to do this for years.

In the book’s intro, Sandoval and Madix write that fans have seen them at both their highs and lows, and have witnessed makeups and breakups, drunk vacations, and a few ugly cries. They also point out that fans have seen them trying to make music with trumpets and robot voices, start businesses, and model in sexy photos.

They wrap up their intro by reminding fans to drink responsibly – or hide it well.

“We aren’t the morality police, but don’t f–king drink and drive,” wrote the couple, who have been dating since the beginning of Season 3. “And don’t drink and rage-text. Finally it’s tradition to say a few words before drinking with friends, so we want to leave you with a little toast: Raise your glass high, this one’s for you.”

Sandoval is an OG cast member of Vanderpump Rules, while Madix joined the show in Season 2. Since his days as a bartender at SUR, Sandoval has opened up Tom Tom with his co-star Tom Schwartz.

Madix is also a bartender, and the duo wrote in their book that they have been talking about a cocktail book for a long time, and everywhere they went people would ask when it was coming. They confessed the truth, saying they were always creating new cocktails, and they wanted them to be epic.

According to Us Weekly, Fancy AF Cocktails features more than 200 pages of recipes and photos, and the couple also dishes some behind the scenes secrets. Sandoval and Madix revealed that the weddings that have taken place on VPR may look beautiful, but filming them can be tricky because of music rights. They often have to film without music, or go to a separate location away from the party.

Sandoval also reveals that he named a drink after Jax Taylor, who he met years ago when they were both broke and struggling models. Sandoval said he named a drink the Gentleman’s Curse because “Vintage Jax” would bring home and hook up with random girls, and he would hear Taylor say “gentleman-like things” to these girls, but be cursed by the words he could never live up to.

Sandoval also pointed out that Taylor’s relationship with Brittany Cartwright has broken the curse.

The couple also tells the story of what happened on the night during Season 6 when Cartwright heard a recording of Taylor’s hook-up with Faith Stowers, and they include a real “rage-text” from Katie Maloney’s alter ego, Tequila Katie.

Madix also explains how she became friends with Stassi Schroeder. And, Sandoval jokes about the infamous pasta fight between James Kennedy and Lala Kent while telling the story behind the drink he calls “I Don’t Do Coke.”
